my baby is three weeks old today!

I am definitely a proud momma who cannot help but show off her little one! Charlotte is three weeks old today and getting so big already. It is amazing how fast time is flying by considering the days are filled with feedings, diaper changes and sleep (or lack thereof). But I wouldn't have it any other way. :) I love it!

our new arrival

Well it has been ten days since our little Charlotte Jane was born and my husband and I could not be happier. She is absolutely perfect (and yes of course we are biased) but seriously, look how cute she is. ;) We are all adjusting to our new roles well and in true photographer fashion, as soon as I was feeling better, I had to bust out the camera to take a few shots before she gets bigger. Here are a few of our favs as well as one of me and my precious little girl. :)

p.s. thank you to EVERYONE for their patience and kindness over the past few weeks. Taking a break from my business is hard, but she is so worth it.

time to have a baby!

As most of my clients know, my husband and I are expecting our first baby in just a few weeks (or even days). We are very excited and cannot wait for her to finally arrive. After working really, really hard all year long, it was finally time for me to take a break though as we wait for her arrival and then welcome her into our family. Therefore for the next few months, I will be on a short maternity leave as I figure out how to be a new mom. Yay!

For any new couples interested in meeting with me to discuss your wedding day, I will be resuming meetings again in December or January so feel free to contact me anytime so we can touch base and I can send you any information you need before we meet in person.

To all of my current and past clients, don't worry, I will post photos of our little girl as soon as I am home from the hospital. I am truly appreciative at how wonderful so many of you have been over this past year and love how excited you are for her arrival! ;) I can barely stand the wait myself. Since we just hit the 36 week mark (and my doctors will only let me go until 38 weeks) I had my loving hubby take a few photos of me and the belly today. Here are a few...

p.s. thanks again for all of the good wishes as well!

September 19, 2009... Tressa & Denis

I just knew that my third and last wedding of September would be fun but a little bittersweet. Tressa and Denis's wedding was my last one before I take a mini-maternity leave and although I am super excited about the impending arrival of our little girl, I am not sure if I'll know what to do with myself in the meantime (I'm supposed to be resting and putting my feet up but that is a challenge on a good day for me).

I also knew that Tressa and Denis's wedding was going to be a blast ever since our e session a few months back and it definitely did not disappoint. Tressa was eager and ready to go long before the ceremony even began, and Denis was in a nervous bur calm state as he awaited Tressa's arrival. The ceremony was full of laughs and almost a few tears and was perfect for the couple. Simple and to the point. ;) Immediately after the ceremony we all then hopped into our cars to head to UBC for the formals session, which was AWESOME! Being a Saturday there was almost no one around and there are so many beautiful areas to use. We definitely had a great time and I love the results. Thank you Tressa and Denis for a wonderful day and I wish you the best of luck for the future. :)

September 12, 2009... Lisa & Erick

My second wedding of the month was so much fun! I knew that Lisa was going to be a riot when I met her and her mom many months back, and she definitely did not disappoint. Erick was full of energy too and between the two of them and their wedding party, it was a fun filled wedding day. I was also super excited to be working with Kerry of  Fairy Godmother Weddings again as I know things will be not only stunning but well organized. ;) Lisa was beaming from ear to ear as she prepared and could not wait to see Erick waiting for her at the end of the aisle. After the super touching ceremony we took off for some formals around Deer Lake Park so we could not only enjoy the fabulous weather, but find some much needed shade. It was HOT out! Even with the heat everyone was a blast to work with and did not stop smiling and goofing around the entire time. It was then time to join the rest of the guests at the Diamond Alumni Centre up at SFU and enjoy an evening of fine wines, tasty food and great dancing. I had such a fun day and want to thank everyone for being so kind to me as I waddled my pregnant self around. Happy honeymooning Lisa & Erick!

September 5, 2009... Andrea & Kevin

I know I say this a lot, but I truly was so excited for Andrea and Kevin's wedding day. I fell in love with them from the first time I met them, and fell in love even more after they didn't kill me when I accidentally dropped Andrea's gorgeous (and substantially sized) engagement ring into a large bale of hay at the e session, and I just KNEW that their wedding day, set at the picturesque Farmhouse Lifestyle, was going to be absolutely amazing. We began our day with the girls as they excitedly prepared for the main event. Even with the uncooperative weather Andrea did not let it phase her one bit and was just so excited to walk down the aisle to Kevin. Kevin and his groomsmen were also preparing in their own special way but despite the craziness, looked pretty darn good in the end. The ceremony was moved under the cover of the veranda to avoid the intermittent rain, but was just perfect as this amazing couple exchanged vows. It was ceremony filled with both laughter and happy tears. I was so happy (and I mean super happy) that the rain held off for the entire formals session and I love the results. The wedding party was hilarious to work with and definitely kept me smiling. The rest of the wedding was equally as perfect, with everything from well choreographed dance numbers to the perfect little details to personalize the event. I had such a great time and feel truly honoured that I was invited to share in their amazing day. To Andrea and Kevin, thank you for being such an amazing couple and I truly wish you both the best for the future. :)

August 29, 2009... Jessica & Jordan

My last wedding of August was perfect! Jessica and Jordan chose Whonnock Lake as their venue and it could not have been more beautiful. They booked with me ages ago so I was so excited to see how everything would come together on the big day. The colours and details were gorgeous. We began our day with the guys as they attempted to get ready. Jordan is the first of his crowd to tie the knot so figuring out how to get ready was an adventure to say the least but at least they had fun doing it. Then it was time to visit the girls as they made their final preparations for the day. Jessica was just beaming the entire time and looked absolutely radiant in her gown. After the ceremony, it was then time for a few photos around Whonnock Lake and I love the results. Thank you to Jessica and Jordan for everything and I wish you the best of luck! Have a fabulous honeymoon!!

August 22, 2009... Katie & Tyler

Katie and Tyler's wedding was amazing! The weather was perfect, the location was picturesque, the bride was breathtaking (the groom looked pretty daper himself) and every detail was taken care of. It was one of those amazing weddings that really make you happy to have the opportunity to not only get to photograph each couple of one of the most amazing days of their lives but also get to know so many amazing new people. Set amongst the trees of Katie's aunt and uncle's property, every last detail was tended to by Candice Jones of A Day to Remember wedding consultants and the results were so gorgeous. Katie and Tyler had a vision, and Candice pulled it off.

The wedding party... what can I say about the wedding party. Energetic. Goofy. Slightly x-rated. But so much fun!  They did a stellar job following me around Campbell Valley Park for our quick but very efficient formals session and I am loving the results. Thank you again to Katie and Tyler for everything.

August 19, 2009... Katrina & Markus

Markus and Katrina's wedding was such a treat!! The details were phenomenal, the wedding party was a riot and the location; well it was stunning and a perfect representation of Vancouver. This is post full of compliments and links as so many vendors really came together to make Kat and Markus' wedding day a huge hit. We met at Jericho Beach park for the formals prior to the ceremony and we had such a great time. I must admit I adore working with wedding parties that come from the UK as they all seem to have a sense of humour that is unmatched. Everyone was laughing the entire time. After the photos with the wedding party it was then time to head over to Brock House Restaurant for the fabulous ceremony and reception. Coordinated by the fabulous Kerry Reid of Fairy Godmother Weddings I was so excited to shoot a wedding at this location as it is absolutely breathtaking and really shows of what is so great about Vancouver. The ceremony itself was full of laughter (thanks to my favourite officiant Brent Sheppard), a few tears and a lot of love. These two were just bursting with excitement when they were announced as husband and wife! The reception was stunning as well. The intimate atmosphere and details really made the event one of my favs of the year. The floral arrangements were equally as beautifully and artfully arranged by Rosalba of Rose's Flowers & Gifts. I could go on and onbut I'll let the images speak for themselves. Thanks to Kat and Markus for inviting me to share this special day with you. I am so happy for you both! :)
