The second e session of the weekend started out a little bumpy but ended up being just perfect. :) We were supposed to meet at Bear Creek Park but after arriving and finding out that a HUGE children's festival was being held at the park (and there was no parking in sight) we decided to make a quick location change and head up to the always peaceful Campbell Valley Park. We were definitely not disappointed with the new plan. The weather was perfect, the park was super quiet and this amazingly sweet couple had lots of time to cuddle and tell me all about their big day coming up this September. Here are a few favs...
Stephanie and Cameron were the first of several engagement sessions planned for this gorgeous weekend and it was a great way to start! We met at the popular White Rock pier and even though the crowds were out in full force, we were able to find a few quiet spots that were just perfect for snuggling. Here are a few favourites from our session...
I was so excited to finally meet up with Shannon and Dan for their e session this week. Their wedding is only weeks away and waiting for the weather to improve has proved a tad challenging, but we finally had the opportunity to get together and had such a great session. We started out at a local ice rink which we had all to ourselves! Shannon and Dan's relationship began at an ice rink so it was only fitting to use it as our backdrop. After getting some great shots indoors on the ice we then went outdoors to enjoy the sunshine. These two are definitely a perfect match and I cannot wait until their big day in June! Here are a few favourites from the session...
I had been looking forward to Emily and Shane's big day since I met with them last summer. Not only because they are amazingly sweet people but I was in LOVE with all of their photo location choices. We seemed to go everywhere, from several great spots in Fort Langley to Derby Reach Park to Front St. in New West. for a more urban look. It was awesome! We began our busy day with the girls as they all prepared for the walk down the aisle. It was a blend of excitement, anticipation and chaos as usual but everyone was fabulous and just so excited for Emily. Then it was off to the ceremony site, which was almost surreal. Set overlooking the Northshore mountains and Fort Langley's quaint fields, it was beautiful. After the touching ceremony it was then time for the wedding party to head out for the formals session before rejoining the guests at Roma Hall. It was a fun filled evening and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to share the day with Emily and Shane.
After months and months of chatting via email it was such a pleasure to meet up with Eva and Diego for their e session! This crazy pair currently lives in Edmonton and finally had the opportunity to come out to Vancouver to finalize a few wedding plans and enjoy the West coast sun before heading back. We met up at Jericho Beach and it was definitely a fun-filled session with tons of laughter, a few moments of terror (thanks to a pair of territorial geese) and lots of sweet moments (again in between fits of laughter and looks of horror). I cannot wait for their big day coming up in July. I just know it will be a day to remember! ;) Here are a few favourites from our session...
Brenda and Tony's intimate wedding was perfect and exactly what they had hoped for. With 14 of their closest friends and family looking on, they exchanged vows at the beautiful Seasons in the Park Restaurant up in Queen Elizabeth Park. Their ceremony had the perfect blend of emotion and humour and everyone was a little teary by the end. After a few family photos overlooking the gardens we then had some time for a few photos of the bride and groom before rejoining the group for a tasty lunch. It was such a great day. Thank you again to the happy couple for inviting me to share it with you.
The first official long weekend of the summer was a big one! My first wedding of the weekend was in Lynden, Washington with the gorgeous and sweet Kristie and Darren. Everything was absolutely perfect; from the weather, to the setting, the details, to the excited guests to the nervous and anxious bride and groom. Kristie made a fairy tale entrance to meet her groom and definitely took everyones breath away. After exchanging vows and sharing in their first kiss as husband and wife, we all then hopped onto a few golf carts for a fun filled trip around the course for the formals. The wedding party was so much fun to work with and really worked hard at getting amazing shots. It was then off to the reception for an evening with family and friends. Thank you to everyone for such a great day!
Jennifer and Colin's little guy could not be any cuter. At only two weeks old I think he has been my best baby model to date as most of the time he happily laid on the blankets looking around as we maneuvered him and put cute hats on him for his first official photo session. He entered the world at a whopping 10.2 lbs. and has brought Jennifer and Colin nothing but joy ever since as I am sure he will continue to do. Here are a few of my personal favourites from the session...
Gorgeous day, gorgeous couple and a perfect setting. I couldn't have asked for a better session with Sabine and Jon. Sabine was really excited to have an engagement session here in Vancouver to show off the beautiful city we live in since the wedding will be taking place in Hawaii in just a few short weeks. I loved hearing all about their wedding plans and I can truly tell it is going to be one amazing wedding. Sabine and Jon were naturals in front of the camera and I love the resulting images. Here are a few favourites. :)
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when I am able to reconnect with past clients as they move on to new and exciting experiences in their lives. Like having a baby. ;) When Brent and Reena contacted me to tell me they were expecting their first little one in June, I was so excited! I had such a blast photographing their big day in August 2007 and have loved staying in touch with them since their wedding day. They are by far two of the sweetest and most considerate people I have ever met and I just know they will be the most amazing mom and dad. I cannot wait to meet their new arrival in just a few weeks but in the meantime, we got to show off Reena's gorgeous baby belly as they wait for the big day! I can only hope I look this good when I am 34 weeks pregnant. ;) You look awesome Reena.
